Iguazu Falls, one of the most awe-inspiring natural wonders on our planet, is a testament to the raw power and breath-taking beauty of nature. Nestled on the border between Argentina and Brazil, this magnificent waterfall system is a UNESCO World Heritage site and an icon of South America.

With its thundering cascades, lush rainforest surroundings, and vibrant wildlife, Iguazu Falls is a living spectacle that never fails to inspire wonder and appreciation for the Earth’s stunning diversity. Arrival and First Glimpse

We did a check-in the San Martin Resort and SPA and there was a big sense of anticipation and excitement to start the visit to Iguazu falls.

The visit happened soon after as we were lucky to capture the sunset at the falls which was so fascinating to watch.

As I entered the park, the roar of falling water grew louder with each step. The first glimpse of the falls, as I approached the Devil’s Throat, was nothing short of spectacular. A wall of mist and a thunderous noise hinted at the immense power of the cascading water. I was already in awe, and I hadn’t even reached the main attraction yet!

Devil’s Throat: A Natural Marvel

The centrepiece of my visit to Iguazu Falls was, of course, the legendary Devil’s Throat. To get there, I followed a series of well-maintained trails and boardwalks that wind through the lush rainforest. The anticipation was palpable, and I could feel my heart race as I approached this natural wonder.

Standing at the Devil’s Throat viewpoint, I was spellbound. A colossal, U-shaped waterfall spanning 82 meters wide plunged into the abyss, creating a mesmerizing, never-ending cascade. The sheer force of the water, the deafening roar, and the all-encompassing mist made it a sensory experience like no other. I watched in amazement as rainbows danced in the mist, adding a touch of magic to the scene.

Exploring the Argentine Side

My exploration of Iguazu Falls continued with the Argentine side. The Upper and Lower Circuits provided an opportunity to get up close and personal with the falls. As I followed the trails, I was enveloped by the natural beauty and serenity of the rainforest. Countless individual falls, each unique in its own right, unveiled themselves as I ventured further. The views were nothing short of breath-taking, and the photographic opportunities were endless.

One of the highlights of my visit was taking a boat tour that ventured near the falls. It was an adrenaline-pumping adventure that allowed me to experience the raw power and sheer force of Iguazu Falls up close. I got drenched, but the exhilaration of the experience made it well worth it.

Reflecting on the Brazilian Side

Crossing over to the Brazilian side was like seeing Iguazu Falls from a new perspective. The panoramic views from Brazil allowed me to capture the entire cascade in one sweeping glance. The walkways were well-maintained, offering a comfortable and stunning experience. Surrounded by the vibrant Atlantic Rainforest, I was in the midst of nature’s beauty.

As I explored the Brazilian side, I also visited the Bird Park, home to a multitude of bird species from the region. It was a delightful bonus to my Iguazu Falls adventure, offering a deeper connection to the rich biodiversity of the area.

The visit to Iguazu Falls was a journey of wonder, a testament to the astounding beauty and power of nature. It’s a place where you can feel the heartbeat of the Earth as water tumbles over cliffs and rainforests thrive. From the thunderous roar of the falls to the vibrant colours of the rainforest, every moment was a sensory feast.
