Few Words About Myself Nice to Meet You
Hi, I’m Anton Farrugia, a photographer based in Malta, drawn equally to the familiar and the far away.
My work moves between two worlds. On one side, there’s Malta and Gozo: the light on limestone at dusk, the silence inside Mdina’s walls, a luzzu pulled up on a Gozitan shore. These islands have given me more images than I can count, and I’m still not done with them. That obsession with Maltese and Gozitan landscapes, heritage, and character is what eventually led me to found il-bordura – a fine art print brand dedicated entirely to the Maltese Islands, where my photography is produced as framed prints and canvas wall art.
On the other side, there’s everywhere else. Travel sharpens the eye in ways that staying home cannot. Vietnam, Dubai, wherever the next trip takes me, I bring the same instincts: find the light, wait for the moment, don’t force it.
Street photography ties both worlds together for me. The candid, the unguarded, the scenes that disappear in seconds, that’s where I feel most alive as a photographer.
